My delight in plants began as a young child and I have developed a
knowledge and love of both wild and cultivated plants ever since. I hold
an RHS Certificate in Horticulture and City and Guilds
qualification in Garden Design. Over the years I have designed and
planted numerous gardens. I established my Garden Design business in late 2005. I work mainly within a 75 mile radius of Carlisle but longer distances are not a problem I can also provide a postal or email service. |

I specialise in planting plans that not only look good, but also suit
the conditions, location and style of garden required. Only plants that
I am sure will thrive are included in my planting plans. My designs are
for real gardens which are practical and will give years of pleasure. I
believe that whatever else you may use your garden for; a major element
is cultivating plants and enjoying them. I am keen to work with clients
to ensure they are confident to maintain their garden. For many clients
a consultation visit giving them the opportunity to brainstorm and
clarify their ideas, with some guidance as to what or what is not
feasible is sufficient. Others new to gardening may prefer support over
a period of time. I am happy to provide this for as long as necessary. It may be that a full redesign is required. If this is the case I will listen to the needs and requirements of the client, assess the conditions aspect, orientation, soil type and location. I will take detailed measurements from which I will draw a scaled plan of the garden. This will then be used to hand draw three different design ideas. After further consultation the final hand drawn design will be completed. This design plan can then be used as the basis for a planting plan. I do not usually offer a landscaping service but would be happy to spend time with your chosen landscaper to ensure the designs are interpreted correctly. After the landscaper has completed his work I would be happy to source and plant up the borders. |
